What happens when a Siberian mortgage pro living in the U.S. and a French creative living in Spain are drawn together by a shared passion for the Spanish language?
You get this: 📣
A real-time, no-fluff, cross-continental, culture-colliding mission to learn Spanish in public.
Holy Guacamole: I’m Learning Spanish is born.
I’ve always wanted to learn Spanish, like really learn it.
Not tourist Spanish. Not "Duolingo streak" Spanish.
I’m talking about the kind of Spanish that opens doors, deepens relationships, and helps me serve my clients better.
But like most dreams, this one kept getting pushed aside by work, life, and perfectionism.
And let’s be real, most language classes feel more like a chore than a joy.
Then one day, I left a playful comment on Nadia’s Substack:
“Teach me Spanish.”
She replied. Game on.
We realized we weren’t alone.
So many people are sitting on goals, whether it’s learning a language, launching a project, or finishing a course.
What’s missing? Support. Structure. And a little spice. 🌶️
So we made a pact:
🕶️ I become Anastasia Bond (we are adding gamification)
🎯 Our mission: Learn Spanish by January 2026
🎥 And document the whole wild ride LIVE (Substack + YouTube)
In Avoca-diary #1, you’ll hear:
How we met (spoiler: Substack + accountability = unexpected magic)
Why I’m learning Spanish now (and what Dunkin’ Donuts has to do with it 😅)
Our plan to mix mortgages + mission mindset + messy Español
This is not a language class.
It’s a learning experiment.
It’s personal. It’s public. It’s packed with purpose (and probably bloopers).
If you’re holding onto a dream you keep postponing, this one’s for you.
Whether it’s Spanish, songwriting, or showing up more boldly in your own life…
We hope our journey gives you a reason to start (or start again).

Then tell us in the comments: Which title do you love more?
🫶 Let’s Guac & Roll.
Keep us accountable.
And yes, you’re allowed to message me daily with: “¿Estudiaste hoy, Anastasia?”
To building what matters 🌱,
Anastasia
